THE KINGDOM OF AGARTHA
The idea of the existence of an underground world is not new. There are many ancient cultures that have transmitted this belief and there are many writings in relation to this mysterious underground world.
The Hindu legends are one of them, an inner world whose openings would be located in the Himalayas, where supposedly inhabit creatures extraordinary as dragons and giants.
But there are others that talk about less pleasant and exuberant places, such as the existence of underground hells, the so-called Patala, to the world or kingdom of Agharta, supposedly located below the Gobi desert, an extensive area between the north China plain and southern Mongolia, surrounded by the Altai Mountains, the Mongolian steppes and the Tibetan Plateau.
This myth that goes back to the writing of Athanasius Kircher published in 1665 ” Mundus subterraneus, quo universae denique naturae divitiae “. And that a few years later, as we have mentioned before, Edmund Halley proposed it in his particular scientific theory in 1692.
The entrances to the galleries that lead to the Kingdom of Agartha would be hidden in isolated and incognito places, under the waters of the oceans or among the steepness of some mountains. Some however are “known” and protected by their guardians, such as those located in the Amazon jungle. The Macuxi Indians are their ancestor guardians.
The other entrances would be in Siberia, Russia, in the Gobi desert, between the legs of the Sphinx of Giza, Egypt, in the Cueva de los Tayos, located in the Cordillera del Condor in Ecuador, whose main access to the cave is a vertical tunnel called the Chimney. A mouth 2 m wide and 15.6 m long, and approximately 63 m deep. And the other would be in the range of the Himalayas in Tibet, and in the Cordillera de los Andes.
THE MACUXI : THE GUARDIANS OF THE UNDERGROUND WORLD
The Macuxi consider themselves guardians of the entrance to an inner world. They say that this underground world is inhabited by giants and a lot of vegetation.
The Macuxi Indians are indigenous people who live in the Amazon (where one of the entrances would be), specifically in the north of Brazil. According to legend, the Macuxi are the descendants of the children of the sun, the creator of fire. And the protectors of the inner earth are proclaimed.
Their legends have been passed down orally for generations. They speak of an entrance on the surface of the earth into an inner world, which they call the ” other side of the world.”
Legend has it that the Macuxi entered a cavern and entered the interior. After 13 or 15 days going through various galleries and tunnels they reached the deepest part. What they found was something surprising and extraordinary, an ” underground creation. ” They advanced through that marvelous world for another 3 days until they found some large stepped stones, whose steps measured more than 80 cm tall. Then they came to a gigantic grotto, the cavity of which spanned miles and miles. Four spheres of the size of a watermelon were suspended in the atmosphere and radiated one light with such intensity that hurt their eyes if they looked intently. They shone like the sun and that’s why they were called the 4 suns. They left the torches behind and walked along the sunlit path. After 4 or 5 days of travel, they lost weight and body mass, which allowed them to move faster. They then came to other caverns of formidable dimensions, so enormous that the ceilings could not be seen. After 6 or 7 days of walking, they reached a huge, giant cavern. Its imposing and titanic wingspan was colossal. It was covered with great vegetation, plants and fruit trees, whose fruits they recognized, but almost 4 times larger than normal. They had found an underground paradise filled with abundance and exuberance.
But the Macuxi left a warning, because some places where they passed were extremely dangerous and should be avoided, such as boiling streams. And also some passageways, whose “mysterious air” can make it float and even fly, perhaps due to the absence or decrease of gravity at certain points, according to a scientific theory.
Continuing the journey, they came to a land inhabited by a tribe of giants that measured more than 4 meters in height. They were welcomed with hospitality and enjoyed their hearty food. Big apples like heads, grapes like fists, all kinds of succulent delicacies offered by that extraordinary land. Later the Macuxi decided that it was time to return, but the giants initially refused to let them go, fearful that they would reveal the location of their long-hidden paradise. But then they came to an agreement. In exchange for their freedom to return to the land surface the Macuxi is committed to monitor the entrances of caves and not to allow the entry of any outsider. After swearing such a commitment, the Macuxi returned to the outside world.
In 1907 English explorers chasing the legend of the immense treasures that supposedly existed in the Amazon jungle (El Dorado, especially), they met the Macuxi Indians. Legend has it that a member of the Macuxi tribe violated the agreement, and informed the English explorers of the cave entrances. The English explorers entered but did not return, never heard from again. For this reason the giants punished the Macuxi, forbidding them to return to that paradisiacal land. However, years later they were allowed to enter, but on the condition that whoever entered will never return to the surface.
Those who had been allowed to return after the last warning returned stronger and wiser, thus later becoming the leaders of the Macuxi tribe, the guardians of the inner world.
THE LEGEND OF ADMIRAL RICHARD EVELIN BYRD
The armada of US, made an expedition to the North Pole under the command of Admiral Richard Byrd Evelin. On February 19, 1947, his expedition discovered an access to the ” Hollow Earth”. The same admiral entered its interior through a passage. In the interior the landscape was devoid of ice and cold, with mountains, lakes, rivers and abundant vegetation. A vast expanse of lush vegetation, mountains, lakes, and rivers stretched out before his puzzled gaze. And it was also inhabited by strange creatures, one of them similar to the mammoth ancestor.
A very nice and interesting story, right? If it weren’t that Admiral Byrd at that time was right on the opposite pole of the planet.
THE KINGDOM OF AGARTHA A CHALLENGE TO NATURE
In any case, let’s say the unpleasant truth, the existence of the kingdom of Agartha is difficult to believe if we consider the scientific knowledge that we have today about geology, physics and biology.
The pressure and temperature is different on the surface than in depth. Generally speaking, the maximum depth at which generic life is possible is approximately 1 km. From that depth, environmental conditions change and survival is increasingly difficult.
The earth’s crust has a variable thickness of 5 to 35 km, its temperature ranges from 15º-20º C on the surface to 800º-1000º C in the area of contact with the mantle. The internal heat is produced by the melt of the core and the radioactive material. Heat is maintained by the low thermal conductivity of most crustal rocks and their high opacity. In this generality we have to take into account that the heat varies from one area to another in the interior according to the heat transfer capacity that exists between the minerals and the heat flows in motion.
When there is seismic activity there are anomalous heat flows that mean that in places with 15º-30º C every 100 meters, at depths of 1.5 to 2 km temperatures of 200º-300º C can be found and others with an average value of 3º C each. 100 meters, at depths of 2-3 km there 60º-90ºC.
For there to be life are necessary some environmental conditions determined on the temperature, the water and light, the latter to produce organic matter (photosynthesis). Exceptionally, organic matter can be produced without light through a process called chemosynthesis from inorganic matter, generally carbon dioxide, some bacteria actually do it.
The minimum limit of depth for the existence of life depends on the conditions, can vary from tens of cm to over 1500 m. This is the case of bacteria found 1600 m below the ocean floor of the Sea of Japan and in Sima Krubera in the Caucasus at 2000 meters depth.
However, there are two zones while not producing anything organic (or photosynthesis or chemosynthesis) there is wildlife. They are some underground places and sea beds.
In these places, the organic matter necessary for subsistence comes from other nearby ecosystems. In underground places the nutrient supply as well as the oxygen is transported through the filtered water from the surface and deposited in aquifers.
The scarcity of food and light makes saving energy and adaptation the key to survival. Here we can find tiny invertebrates and crustaceans without pigments and without eyes. Although the lack of light has led to the improvement of the other senses.
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH
Let’s imagine for a moment that we enter through one of the entrances that lead to the underground world of Agartha. Remember that from the first km down to each deeper km the temperature will rise on average between 25 to 30 degrees Celsius under normal conditions.
As we go, the probability that we will find underground sources of water decreases and the food or organic matter carried and introduced through the filtered water would begin to be scarce. The possibility of finding green plants is nil since they need sunlight to carry out photosynthesis and the animals that we would find (crustaceans of millimeters that obtain the oxygen they need to survive from water) would be insufficient to be able to nourish us and keep us alive, we would have carried many supplies, but when they run out…
But that would not be the greatest difficulty to survive. As we move forward the pressure would increase, but above all there would be no oxygen. Without a source that supplied oxygen through pipes or cylinders, we could not breathe.
When we arrive, if we arrive, 2 km underground, the average temperature in normal conditions would be between 50º to 60º C. We would have 10 minutes to live before we die. But we could still save ourselves for now if we wear special suits that isolate and protect us.
However at these depths in some areas there is still life. But they are neither giant dinosaur-like plants nor animals. They are the so-called Extremophiles that can withstand extreme environmental conditions of pressure, temperature, acidity, aridity, metal concentration and radiation.
Of course it is a diverse fauna, a complex and underdeveloped ecosystem, generally composed of microbes, bacteria and viruses, such as Bacillus infernus that lives at 2,700 m, Desulforudis audaxviator found between 1,500 m to 2,800 m deep in a gold mine in La Witwatersand basin, South Africa or the Pyrococcus furiosus that lives in underwater hot springs at more than 100ºC.
From a depth of 5 km the temperature rises to 150º C, not counting the pressure, the lack of oxygen, water, nutrition, light, life as we know itwould not be possible. Unless there is something supernatural (like a glowing sphere) that can alter the normal laws of nature. But they say that is a legend… it is though?
